Learning Experiences and Resources

Learning Experiences and Resources

To attain it’s objective, the school employs a body of content and a set of learning experiences associated with the content.

Learning Content- refers to aspect of the environment or reality that a person internalize as part of the repertoire he needs for successful living in the society. This includes information and knowledge, concept and beliefs, habits and skills, sensitivities and attitudes, values and ideals prevalent on the society.

Learning Experience- refers to certain activities that the learner undergoes in reaction to the environment with which he has an opportunity to interact. An experience is personal to the learner and what he gets out of it depends a lot on his total personal life space.

Curriculum and Instruction

Curriculum- a set of learning content and experience that are selected, organized and implanted by the school pursuit of its institutional purpose.

      - the blue print or master plan of selected and organized learning content.

Instruction- actual implementation of this plan through contrived experiences in the classroom.

Two aspect of instruction:

Teaching and Learning

Teaching- it is the responsibility of the teacher. It involves the intelligent arrangement of the environment and resources of learning that will evoke the right kind of response from the learners.

Learning- it is done by the learners by using the learners resources and undergoing the planned learning experience.
